Uncle’s Ice Cream is co-owned by Paul and Barbara Logan. When they first conceived of their ice cream sandwiches, they were running a successful hydroponic lettuce farm. Paul, a chef, started making ice cream sandwiches to offer alongside their produce at the weekly Waialua farmers market. Before they knew it, their ice cream sandwiches were outselling the lettuce, and they made the choice to give up the farm to continue bringing sweetness and joy to their customers through their ice cream treats. You can now find Uncle’s in more than 100 retailers on O’ahu, with plans in action to expand across Hawai’i and the mainland. Uncle’s has also partnered with investment crowdsourcing company StartEngine, which will soon allow everyone to invest in their ice cream sandwiches for as little as $200!! They are excited to be growing responsibly while keeping their products authentic.
Born and raised on O’ahu, Paul Logan previously worked as a Chief Engineer in the merchant shipping industry and holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Kings Point Merchant Marine Academy. Today, he heads up operations and product development while managing his team in production, distribution and customer service. As important as the product is, he takes equal pride in creating a safe, happy and rewarding workspace for his crew of flavor creators.
